Aside from the random snowflakes falling, this was a great spring engagement session! Valerie and Matthew met up with me at this little park in Grand Rapids yesterday. These two will be married this August in Holland. Check out a few highlights from our session.
Lindsey & Tim! Wow, I love your natural interaction with each other and how these photos turned out! Tim grew up down the street from Rawson’s King Mill County Park, so it just seemed like a great idea to shoot there, and I’m sure glad we did! I love Northern Michigan! So anytime I get a chance to photograph a wedding or engagement session up there, I jump at the opportunity. I met Kelly and Kristen up north at Boyne Mountain Resort for their engagement photos. I was anticipating an overcast day, which is great for portraits, but was met with full sun. We hiked into nearby woods in search of shade and scenery and we were not let down. We came across a forest full of snow covered pines, and a beautiful stream. With the help of some paracord tied to a snow covered branch, I was able to simulate a little snowfall for a few photos. After hiking out of the woods, we headed back to the ski lodge where we took more photos near the fireplace and in a quiet little library. Check out a few of the highlights…
I met Erin and Joe at their apartment in Chicago for an indoor lifestyle engagement shoot. I don’t have a lot of experience with indoor lifestyle photography so I really enjoyed the challenge and I REALLY like the results! We ended up chasing down the last of the daylight outside with some beautiful lighting and a great cityscape in the background. These two are getting married next August at the MillCreek Wilde Barn in Watervliet, MI.
Rachel and Adam are getting married next September in Muskegon, Michigan. I get really excited about photographing west coast Michigan weddings. Anywhere from Southwest Michigan to Northern Michigan is just loaded with beautiful scenery and awesome people like these two! They decided to have their engagement photos taken at the Kitchel/Lindquist/Hartger Dunes Preserve and The Northshore Marina in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Marina is at the mouth of the Grand River as it pours into Lake Michigan. We had beautiful fall weather with some really chilly winds! The sunset on the pier was a huge highlight! Speaking of highlights, here’s a few of my favorites from the shoot.
Darian and Americo met me on the Kalamazoo Mall for their engagement session, we walked around town and headed over to a few abandoned buildings to finish up the shoot. These two are getting married next August in Holland, MI. The ceremony will be held at a really cool little place called Morningside Park, which looks awesome for photos. We’ll then head over to Baker Lofts in Holland for the wedding reception. So Glad you two asked me to be your wedding photographer!
Just a few highlights from Emily and Robbie's engagement session last week. They're wedding will be held at the beautiful Sherman Lake YMCA in Augusta, MI during late September this year. Can't wait to photograph their wedding day!
These two! This is why I'm a wedding photographer... We're counting down the days until they say "I Do". Their wedding day is just a week away so here's a little summary of their engagement photos. All images are captured on the campus of Western Michigan University. We started at Heritage Hall, formerly East Hall, where we played around with photos on the steps, at the tall columns of the building, and overlooking Kalamazoo. Then we moved to the front of the building in the tall grass and eventually across the road to Vandercook Hall, one of my favorite buildings in Kalamazoo. It's so beautiful with all the ivy covering the face of the historic building. See for yourself!
Just a few more from Karen and James. We did two engagement shoots, so this one was a short session. We really wanted to catch the last of the apple blossoms so we ran out to VerHage Fruit Farms in Kalamazoo. They're getting married in October at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, Michigan.
Karen and James helped me clear the dust off my gear for my first engagement session of the year. As you can see, it's spring time here in Kalamazoo, trees are in bloom, and love is in the air! This is the first of two sessions, here at the always beautiful Kalamazoo Nature Center arboretum. Their wedding is taking place in October 2018 at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, MI.
