Being a Kalamazoo photographer means I’m right in the middle of Detroit and Chicago and I’m always willing to do a little traveling to photograph some of these great people and places between! Here’s a few from Alyssa and Jason’s engagement session in downtown Detroit. We started at The Skip and ended at Belle Isle. Can’t wait to photograph their wedding coming up in May of 2022!
These two are getting married on August 29, 2021 at the beautiful Gable Hill Barn in Southwest Michigan. I think it’s safe to say the temperature on their wedding day will be a bit different from their engagement session experience in Kalamazoo last weekend! It was 15° F and windy but I’d say we pulled off some great shots and had some fun doing it!
Being a photographer in Kalamazoo never seems to disappoint. We strolled around the Kalamazoo Mall, got a much needed coffee from Caffe Casa, explored a snow apocalypse on top of a parking structure, and headed to a nearby field to end the session with them wrapped up in a blanket. Kate and Brad are getting married at Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake in July of 2021! We got together back in September for a really fun engagement session in downtown Kalamazoo. They started off the session by sitting down for a quick drink at Principle’s outdoor dinning area. We went for a walk around the Kalamazoo Mall and ended the session on top of a parking structure as we watched the sunset over downtown Kalamazoo. Check out a few highlights from the session!
It all started when Melissa decided to take Evan's hat from him when they were kids. They've both been showing horses since a young age, even competing against each other. With so many memories at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds, it just made sense for that to be the special place where Evan would propose to Melissa. He lead her in blindfolded, got down on one knee in the middle of a heart made of flower pedals, and asked her to marry him. I'm so glad Evan asked me to be his photographer!
So excited to be Michelle and Josè's wedding photographer this July. They will be getting married at Laurel Manor in Livonia, MI July of 2018. I had to post a few highlights from their engagement shoot last Fall. We did two engagement sessions and working with them was really fun, they made my job so easy. I really didn't give much direction, most of their poses were very natural and they laughed together through the entire session. Our first session was in Glenn, Michigan at a local vineyard. We found an old barn to shoot in, then walked through the vineyard for the rest of the session. The second shoot took place at Lincoln Park in Chicago, IL.
Just a few more from Karen and James. We did two engagement shoots, so this one was a short session. We really wanted to catch the last of the apple blossoms so we ran out to VerHage Fruit Farms in Kalamazoo. They're getting married in October at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, Michigan.
Karen and James helped me clear the dust off my gear for my first engagement session of the year. As you can see, it's spring time here in Kalamazoo, trees are in bloom, and love is in the air! This is the first of two sessions, here at the always beautiful Kalamazoo Nature Center arboretum. Their wedding is taking place in October 2018 at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, MI.
